Speakers Series on Entrepreneurship: How to Build the Best Team

September 22, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Looking to bring your first employee on board? How do you find the best talent for your start-up? Should you hire full time employees or contractors? How do you keep your team motivated? Or maybe you want to work for a start-up?

Bring your questions on Sept. 22 at EverFi and get some answers starting at 6.30 pm.

A new event from the DC Web Women (DCWW) Speakers Series on Entrepreneurship will bring you Dominique Taylor, who will show you the importance of focusing on culture for a company to be successful; Rish Patel, who will teach you why candidate experience matters; and Jennie Armstrong, who will unveil the five things to look for in a candidate when growing a start-up.

The event is open to any and all current entrepreneurs, as well as to those who are just thinking about starting a business. We aim to provide useful, practical information, and help entrepreneurs connect regardless of their age or where they are in the process of building their business.

So, how do you build the best team for your business?

Register to our event, take a bus/walk/drive to EverFi’s Georgetown location and find out.

Meet our speakers

Dominique Taylor is EverFi’s Vice President of Talent Management and is responsible for all things related to attracting and retaining the incredible people that make EverFi an amazing company and special place to work. She focuses her energies and talents on uncovering and cultivating progressive corporate strategies that support the company and the team’s growth. Dominique joined EverFi from the Advisory Board Company where she developed a passion for Workforce Management and for using overly complex, multi-syllabic words to discuss both complicated and mundane subjects. Dominique graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Technology Management from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in 2000 and has earned her PHR and SHRM-CP.

Rish Patel is the founder and CEO of RP Pro Services, a consulting firm specializing in Talent Acquisition. After years of seeing his colleagues and client consistently and routinely commoditize the Talent Acquisition process, he founded RP Pro Services in October of 2011. Since then, Rish has had the pleasure of working with a variety of different business in the DC area. In the Federal space, he’s worked with companies ranging from a small-woman owned government-contracting firm to a $1b contractor and everything in between. In addition to government contractors, he’s consulted with commercial tech companies, an eCommerce company, and now Fortune 150 Bank. Each one of these projects has allowed him to both teach and learn the various ways to improve Talent Acquisition. “People not just resources,” is not only his company motto, it’s his way of life!
